      Local New Index
The library has electronically indexed select stories of local relevance and death announcements since 1983. (Advertisements, birth announcements, and news wire articles are not indexed, however.)

News and obituary searches may be conducted online by visiting the library's website (see below). Once relevant citations are located, it is then possible to view and/or print the item by utilizing the library's microfilm collection.

      Research Services
The Library will conduct research at the rate of $50 per hour. Research constitutes any request, whether in person or by phone, which requires more of a librarian's time than would the average reference question. The distinction is made by the librarian on a case to case basis.

The Palm Springs Library Center is at 300 South Sunrise Way (just north of Ramon Road) in Palm Springs. Information: (760) 323-8294.
