The St. Francis of Assisi Ladies Guild presented its 14th Annual Fashion Show Luncheon, "Cross Over the Rainbow," at Indian Wells Country Club March 29.

Community service groups offered children free fun and health and safety information at the Day of the Young Child at the Von's shopping center in Desert Hot Springs March 29.










Guitars and Saxes
The Desert Lexus Music Festival featured the kick-off concert of the annual Guitars and Saxes national tour at The Lodge at Rancho Mirage March 29.











Indio Powwow
The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians held the Indio Powwow Native American Festival on the Cabazon Indian Reservation in Indio March 28-30. Photographs show dancers in their regalia during the Grand Entry and intertribal dancing that followed March 28.













JROTC competition
Palm Springs High School hosted a salute to the military parade and drill team competition between its JROTC Air Force Unit, Cathedral City High School JROTC Air Force Unit and Desert Hot Springs High School JROTC Marine Unit March 28. The unit from Desert Hot Springs won the Palm Springs Unified School District Superintendent's Award.













"Noise of the Toys"
Students at James Workman Middle School in Cathedral City presented two shows of "Noise of the Toys" March 28. Photographs are of a rehearsal March 27.











"Once Upon a Mattress"
The Performing Arts Department of Indio High School presented the musical comedy, "Once Upon a Mattress," March 20-22 and 27-29.











Graduation gift
Palm Desert High School seniors beautified the campus quad as their graduation present to the school March 27. Students painted, spread new ground cover and planted shrubs.











Volleyball in the park
Players of all skill levels competed in the City of La Quinta's Grass Volleyball Gig at Adams Park March 29.
