Coachella Valley High School alumni from the classes of 1937-1946 reunited at the campus in Coachella April 5 (pictured) and Desert Grove Clubhouse April 6.

Actor, producer, director and community activist Edward James Olmos spoke to a crowd of over 1,000 high school students during the Indian Wells Youth Town Hall at Cathedral City High School April 1.

Girl Scout Day
Girls and their families learned all about Girl Scouting through interactive booths, crafts, games, sports, songs and clowns at Girl Scout Day 2003 held at Westfield Shoppingtown Palm Desert April 5. The Girl Scouts of the San Gorgonio Council from Riverside and San Bernardino counties and Westfield Shoppingtown hosted the event.

Salsa Festival
The Boys and Girls Club of Desert Hot Springs and the Desert Hot Springs Noon Rotary raised money for their programs at the second annual Salsa Festival at Mission Springs Park in Desert Hot Springs April 4-6. The event featured salsa tasting, carnival rides, music and entertainment.

Senior softball
The Palm Springs Senior Softball league, consisting of players age 50 and older, wrapped up the season with playoff games in Demuth Park in Palm Springs April 5-6.

Victory Party
Family YMCA of the Desert held a Casino Night and Victory Party April 2 at Desert Willow Golf Resort to celebrate the $221,776 supporters raised in the 2003 Sustaining Campaign. The money enables low-income families to participate in YMCA programs.
