Local Band Showcase Wherehouse Music Palm Springs
The Wherehouse music store in Palm Springs presented its Local Band Showcase on Friday night July 25th. They featured the blues/rock band "Woodshed" whose members all currently live in Cathedral City and Palm Desert and perform locally. Their music is also available on CD.

Camp Palm Springs Camp Palm Springs is holding a ten week
summer camp for. Every week is a different theme, and activities
are based on the weekly theme.
The Children's Discovery Museum
The Children's Discovery Museum presented "Seriously Silly Science Week" from July 21st - 25th for their Summer Discovery Camp series. Campers enjoyed participating in a variety of craft and science projects at the museum. The camp will continue through the summer focusing on a variety of special themes.
La Quinta Senior Center Dance Class
Les Douglas has been teaching dance for the past 30 years, five of that has been at the La Quinta Senior Center, Instructing a various rang of dancing ranging from Ballroom, Latin, to West Coast Swing. Group lessons are every Thursday and workshops every 12 weeks.
Nature Songs with Raven Longbow
Members of the Natural Science Collaborative hosted Nature's Songs performed by Raven Longbow at the Palm Desert Library Monday July 21, 2003. Native American Musician raven Longbow played Native American music inspired by nature.
Clean up day
Young and old; concerned citizens gathered for a "Community Clean-up Day" for Panorama Park in Cathedral City, Saturday July 26th. They started early at 6 a.m. to try to beat the heat, hoping to be finished by 9.
Chen Ping and his Magic Ax
Twin brothers Sean and Patrick Johnson of L.A. Puppet Professionals performed "Chen Ping and his Magic Ax" at the Rancho Mirage Library Wednesday July 23rd, 2003.
Soccer
The balls were flying fast and furious at the soccer park in Palm Desert Wednesday evening as the Desert United Soccer Club gathered to practice. The league is made up of 12 teams, with members ages 10 to 18. There is a 12 game season, as well as tournament games which are played year round throughout the entire Southern California region.
Table Tennis
The Palm Desert Table Tennis Club is alive with camaraderie and fun. Enthusiasts gather from all over the Coachella Valley twice a week, year round, at the YMCA of the Desert, 43930 San Pablo, Palm Desert.
