Record Alley/Ebin:
Singer/Guitarist “Ebin” gave an in-store performance Saturday
afternoon at the Record Alley located in the Westfield shopping center
in Palm Desert. Shoppers were free to listen and browse while being
entertained.
Jazzercise Open House:
Jazzercise held a free open house Saturday, August 9th at the Palm
Desert Community Center. The event featured a 60 minute workout choreographed
to music led by three instructors. Refreshments and door-prizes were
handed out as well.
Juggler David Cousin Performing:
The Rancho Mirage Public Library hosts its Summer Reading Program
every Wednesday thru August 20th. A variety of guests are featured
including world record holding juggler David Cousin. All programs
are provided free of charge and open to all children.
United Methodist Church in Palm Springs
United Methodist Church in Palm Spring held a four-day long Vacation
Bible School for children ages 3-10. The theme of the bible school
is Lighthouse kids and how God lights up life.
Swim Meet:
It was a busy Friday afternoon at the Pawley Pool Family Aquatic Complex
in Indio, when the “Get Hooked on Swimming” program held
its final swim meet, followed by an awards presentation ceremony and
potluck. The event was sponsored by the Coachella Valley Recreation
and Park District.
Miss Teen USA at Angel View:
Vanessa Semrow, Miss Teen USA 2002, Visited with the children and
staff at Angel View’s Marion James House in Palm Springs Thursday,
August 7th, 2003. Vanessa answered questions from the children about
her reign as Miss Teen USA.
Junior and Pee Wee Tennis Clinic:
The Coachella Valley Park and Recreation District sponsors an ongoing
Advanced Junior Tennis Clinic taught by USPTA certified pro Bob Mitchell.
A six week summer Pee Wee Clinic is also held at the Palm Desert Civic
Center courts and community center.
Windsor Court Assisted Living
Windsor Court Assisted living in Palm Springs offers numerous activities
for residents to enjoy including Exercise swimming taught by the Arthritis
Foundation of The Desert, Guest speakers such as owners of Yes I can
Store, and games like motorized wheelchair races.
