Affair of the Heart
The Cardiovascular Institute of Palm Springs at Desert Regional Medical Center held its fourth annual Affair of the Heart Feb. 13 from 10 am. to 2 p.m. The affair hosted medical booths, free screenings, guest speakers, and a fashion show.

Date Festival artist reception
The Riverside County Fair National Date Festival held its artist reception showcasing local artist work that will be displayed at the fair. The art is judged in two categories, fine art and photography.

Las Casuelas Terraza anniversary
Las Casuelas Terraza in Palm Springs held its 25th anniversary with a three-day celebration of entertainment, food and drinks. Founded in 1979, Las Casuelas is a Palm Springs Landmark serving more than 400,000 customers per year.
Ernst and Walburga Wagner, part-time Palm Springs residents, enjoy silver margaritas to commemorate Las Casuelas 25th anniversary. The Hot Rox Band plays at the Las Casuelas Cantina Wednesday through Sunday evenings. Bob and Becky LaVenia of Palm Springs have a great time at the anniversary celebration. Palm Springs Classic
Lennar Communities and Empire Cos. hosted the ground breaking ceremony for Palm Springs Classic, the first golf course community built in the city of Palm Springs in almost two decades. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the building site.

Building Horizons
The Desert Contractors’ Association presented Building Horizons’ 10th Anniversary Dinner hosted by El Paseo bank at Desert Falls Country Club Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Building Horizons was developed by the Boys and Girls Club of Coachella Valley, the accredited educational program allows students to learn valuable skills while constructing homes.

Arnold Palmer at Mountain View Country Club
Arnold Palmer made a special appearance at the grand opening of the Mountain View Country Club golf course Feb. 13. The Mountain View Country Club is a 365-acre gated community featuring an Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, which spans more than 7,300 yards with a par 72.

The Palm Springs Unified School District Visual Performing Arts show was held on Feb. 12, at 7:00 pm at the Palm Springs High School auditorium. The show presented the visual performing arts of flags, guard, jazz, dance, baton and drill, from schools throughout the valley.
