Desert Chapel’s ‘Joy!’
Desert Chapel in Palm Springs held its annual choir concert “Joy!” Dec. 21 with the Desert Chapel choir accompanied by the Petite Praisers.

Genealogical Society of Coachella Valley
The Genealogical Society of Coachella Valley held its annual ethnic food lunch at the Max T. McCandless Library Dec. 27. The Genealogical Society of Coachella Valley holds monthly meetings the last Saturday of every month at the Max T. McCandless Library with general interest speakers or a workshop.

Hanukkah Luncheon
Jewish Family Service held a Hanukkah Luncheon for local Holocaust survivors and their spouses Dec. 23 at Temple Isaiah in Palm Springs.

Minerva Street
Minerva Street in Cathedral City becomes illuminated with multiple versions of Santa Claus and reindeer during December. The entire street decorates for the holiday. Residents say the decorating begins after Thanksgiving with most of the ornaments in place by the first week in December.

The Palm Springs skate park, owned by the city of Palm Springs, opened to the public Dec. 13. The skate park’s hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Wildlights at The Living Desert
The Berger Foundation’s Wildlights is presented by the city of Indian Wells with more than 250,000 twinkling lights at The Living Desert in Palm Desert throughout December.
