Art Splash
The River in Rancho Mirage had it’s 2nd annual Art Splash, art showcase and sale. The event is held the second Saturday of every month with the showing of award winning artists.

Tony Curtis painted bighorn sculpture
The Lodge in Rancho Mirage held the Unveiling and Installation Reception for the painted bighorn Sculpture “Some Like it Hot” by film star and entertainer Tony Curtis. The event supports the Bighorn Institute and the plight of the bighorns.

Mary Freeman's 97th Birthday Party
Mary Freeman of Palm Springs celebrated her 97th birthday with her friends at Mimi's Café in Rancho Mirage Wednesday, January 7. Mary was born on January 8, 1907 in Shetland Isles above Scotland . Mary has 2 children and 3 great-grand children. Mary has been a resident in Palm Springs since 1984, and enjoys friends, traveling, and is an avid knitter since the age of 5.

Cathedral City Senior Center
Cathedral City Senior center holds weekly activities for seniors including card games, bunco, dance classes, and computer classes. The Center is open to the public.

Art Walk on El Paseo
Carmichael Designs held their grand opening on Thursday, Jan 8. The gala party coincided with the El Paseo Art Walk in Palm Desert. It was well attended, and a good time was had by all. The contemporary furniture is a new look for the valley, and a nice addition.

Desert Paws
Desert Paws held it's 4th annual 5k run/walk with the start and finish at Palm Springs City Hall . The event contributes to the homeless and abandoned animals in the Coachella Valley.

Family Picnic
Coachella Recreation and Parks District will have a family picnic and activities event including BBQ, hot dogs, games, crafts, face painting and bounce houses free to the public.

Salsa Dancing and exercise
Salsa Dancing and exercise class instruction by Elsa Miller at the Indio Community Center. The two-hour class focuses on dance, stretch and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while grooving to the music.
