Blood Bank Anniversary
Staff members, benefactors and donors celebrated the Community Blood Bank's 30th anniversary at the Doral Palm Springs Resort in Cathedral City January 15.








Family Experience Day
Clients of the Braille Institute in Rancho Mirage brought their families and friends to Family Experience Day January 16. The visitors attended classes and a tech fair with the client who invited them.











Chop House
Kaiser and Lee Morcus held a grand opening celebration for their newest restaurant, the Chop House, in Palm Desert January 19.









The Gizmo Guys
The Gizmo Guys, Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker, performed two juggling shows at the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert in Rancho Mirage January 17 and 18.











Musical comedy
Lee Fugal played the piano and various homemade instruments for an audience at the Fountains at the Carlotta in Palm Desert January 19.











CVMVCD Anniversary
The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District held an open house to celebrate 75 years of public service at the facility in Indio January 16.












Game shows revived
The Mizell Senior Center revived The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game for their clients during a luncheon at the Racquet Club Hotel in Palm Springs January 15. The games were followed by a vaudeville show by Berks and Arlene Baker.












Opera in the library
The Rancho Mirage Public Library and the Palm Springs Opera Guild sponsored a performance by tenor Rodell Aure Rosel, a senior voice student at U.C.L.A. and winner of the 2001 Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition, at the library January 14.









Tennis Round Robin
Tennis players raised money for brain tumor research at the Bob Holm Research Fund Tennis Round Robin and Jazz Festival at Marriott's Rancho Las Palmas Country Club in Rancho Mirage January 19.
