100 Years of Hope
President Gerald R. Ford, Eisenhower Medical Center staff and city officials honored Bob Hope for his contributions to the hospital and community at a celebration of his 100th birthday at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences in Rancho Mirage May 29. Volunteers also delivered cake and cookies around the hospital and greeted visitors at the program.

"Coppelia"
Dancers from the Desert Youth Ballet, under the direction of Valerie Mahabir, presented "Coppelia" at the Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs May 30.
"Gold Dust or Bust"
Fourth grade students at Marywood Country Day School gave three performances of "Gold Dust or Bust," a musical about the Gold Rush, at the school in Rancho Mirage May 28 and 29.
Junior League luncheon
Members of the Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities recognized their sponsors, volunteers, board members and grant recipients at the annual spring luncheon at Palm Valley Country Club in Palm Desert May 31.
"A Night to Remember"
Students of Miss Julie's Dance Studio in Indio presented "A Night to Remember" at the McCallum Theatre May 31. Julie Andrews retires this year after 19 years of running the studio.
Tools for Tomorrow
Students in the Tools for Tomorrow program at Julius Corsini, Edward Wenzlaff, Two Bunch Palms and Bubbling Wells elementary schools performed songs, readings and plays and displayed their artwork during a program at Two Bunch Palms Elementary School in Desert Hot Springs May 30. Tools for Tomorrow is a free, onsite after school program in the arts for elementary schools in the Coachella Valley.
Zookeeper Olympics
Employees from the animal, education and garden departments at The Living Desert competed against each other in four games created by participating teams at the 3rd Annual Zookeeper Olympics held at the zoo May 29.
