Town Hall Speakers series
Frank Abagnale, one of the world’s most respected experts on embezzlement and forgery whose life story was told in the book “Catch Me If You Can,” spoke at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells Friday, March 12. The event was sponsored by Desert Town Hall Indian Wells.

Golf tournament
Esperanza Youth and Family Center held its second annual golf tournament at the Palm Desert Resort Country Club Friday, March 11. Delta Grading Inc. sponsored the event.

Total K-Day
Palm Springs Kiwanis club members along with our K-Kids fourth and fifth graders from Katherine Finchy Elementary School and Cahuilla Elementary School sorted clothes, collected food, cleaned and helped at the Well of the Desert and at the Martha's Village Thrift Store, Saturday, March 13.

Kids on the Block
The Kids on the Block puppet show, put on by the women of The National Charity League, visited Rancho Mirage Elementary School Wednesday, March 10, at 9 a.m. The puppets educated the children on understanding and accepting disabled children.

Lasagna dinner
The Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club held a lasagna dinner, Thursday, March 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., sponsored by Nicolino's Italian Restaurant.

Scotch Symposium
The second annual Scotch Symposium was held at The Lodge in Rancho Mirage, Wednesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. , with lessons in “The Art of Tasting and Enjoying Scotch” as well as “The Art of Making Fine Scotches.”

‘Coffee and Conversations'
The Palm Springs Desert Museum's Natural Science Council sponsored a “Coffee and Conversations” field trip to see the ancient fish traps in Thermal, Thursday, March 11.
