Hidden Depths
The Earth Day celebration at the Jayne Behman Gallery in Palm Springs April 22 featured a show of paintings by Timothy Kroe entitled "Hidden Depths," a visit from a Joshua Tree National Park ranger and information about the California Wild Heritage and Scenic Rivers Act.

The Sky is the Limit
Students from seven elementary schools in the Desert Sands Unified School District displayed what they learned in Sky is the Limit art program during a performance and art show at Lyndon Johnson School in Indio April 22. Teaching artists specializing in visual arts, music, dance and theater visited classrooms once a week for 15 weeks during the Riverside Arts Council program funded by a grant through the California Arts Council.
Soap Box Derby
Thirty eight children ages 8-16 raced down Avenida Bermudas in La Quinta during the 9th Annual Don Berry Greater Coachella Valley Soap Box Derby April 26.
Kids Go To Work
The La Quinta Resort and Club invited employees' children, aged 10 to 15, to attend a "Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day" April 24. Participants learned various aspects of running a resort from the information technology, loss prevention, engineering and culinary departments.
