Bighorn

College of the Desert Street Fair is a great place to find holiday presents, birthday and anniversary gifts, and one-of-a-kind favors. The Alumni Street Fair is located on the College of the Desert campus.

Dog Park
The Civic Center Dog Park is approximately three-quarters of an acre in size and has a separate area for small dogs.

El Paseo
The world-famous El Paseo Shopping District features more than 150 world-class shops, clothing boutiques, art galleries, jewelers and award-winning restaurants.

The Living Desert
The Living Desert was established in 1970 as a nonprofit education and conservation center, dedicated to preserving desert plant and animal life. It contains 10 botanical gardens representing 10 different desert ecosystems and more than 480 desert animals. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits paved and unpaved walkways, all interpreting the deserts of the world and providing a unique desert experience to visitors.

McCallum Theatre
The McCallum Theatre Institute, established in September 1997, is the education division of the McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts. The Institute offers a spectrum of arts education programs for the community, including free activities for more than 19,500 school children and classroom teachers each year.

Palm Desert Historical Society
The Society is housed in Palm Desert 's first fire station, built in 1949, and features a 1973 fire engine, pictorial display and historical video. The Society is open every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, but is closed July and August

Summer of Fun Concerts Finale
The final performance of the Summer of Fun Concerts in the Palm Desert Civic Center Park , featuring the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, culminated in a fireworks display along with a rousing rendition of “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Dan Barrett and Hank Schmel man the fireworks firing board while Riverside County fireman Mark Miller stands firewatch duty. Fireworks burst into the night air during a rousing rendition of "The Stars and Stripes Forever."
The orchestra came to life as the audience disappears into the night's darkness.
Tympanist Bruce Anderson is in motion.
Palm Desert Mayor Pro Tem Buford Crites (left) and former Councilman Walter Snyder stayed for the concert after a dedication ceremony in the park.
