Awards Ceremony
The Indian Wells Team Classic held their awards ceremony along with a barbecue luncheon at The Golf Resort at Indian Wells clubhouse Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4. The two member teams enjoyed hamburgers and chicken after completing their 18 holes and vied for prizes of cash and putters.

Posting Event and Book Fair
Amelia Earhart Elementary School held its Fourth Annual Posting Event and Book Sept. 1. Pupils were given the opportunity to find out who their teachers are for the 2004-05 school year.

Wellington Place Fashion Show
Wellington Place Assisted Living in Rancho Mirage held a fashion show Aug. 27. Residents, staff and family members modeled clothes from Talbot's on El Paseo. .

The Ice Garden
The Ice Garden ice-skating rink in Cathedral City offers public skating sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings, and Saturday afternoons and evenings. The Ice Garden also offers adult and youth hockey leagues and clinics as well as figure skating classes and clinics

A Beary Special Birthday Party
A Bear Is Born in Palm Desert hosts private birthday and team parties, scout troop meetings and school field trips. Children are able to stuff their own animal, give it heart with a special wish, and even give it a name for its own birth certificate..

Peace Prayer Service
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School held a Peace Prayer Service on Thursday morning in the church in Indio . Led by Principal Diane Arias, the students prayed for peace through song, dance and promises.

La Quinta AYSO
The La Quinta AYSO sponsored a U.K. International Soccer Camp for children 4 years old and up. Professional coaches worked closely with the children to build ability, skill and interest in the game. One-hundred twenty-five children were enrolled in the week-long camp.

Summer Starry Night Dance
Clients, families and friends of Unified Cerebral Palsy were welcomed to the La Quinta Resort & Club for a "Summer Starry Night Dance" Friday evening. The menu included pizza, chicken tenders, onion rings and french fries.

Shopping Spree at La Quinta Wal Mart
The Palm Springs Area Marriott Business Council donated $100 gift cards to a group of Desert Sands Unified School District students to spend at the La Quinta Wal-Mart Super Center. The Marriott Business Council also gathered school supplies to distribute to Desert Sands Unified School District schools
